Destination Wedding: Asheville, NC
Have you ever heard the saying “Great things come to those who wait"? I would have to agree that to a point, it’s true. Sometimes patience can bring you the greatest successes. HOWEVER, when I decided to stop sitting around being lame and start showcasing my 50 Shades of Awesome (see Orlando Blog), I came across an opportunity that was too good to pass up!
On my latest destination wedding adventure, I met up with the super talented Audrey Goforth of Goforth Photography in one of my favorite destinations, Asheville, North Carolina. And let me tell you, this wedding was a dream! I was like a kid in a candy store, like McCauley Culkin at the end of Home Alone 2, I was Rocky when he finally made it to the top of all those stairs, like…okay, okay, you get it!!!! I’ve never seen so many gorgeous personalized details! From canvas bags to hangover kits, they had it ALL!! It was old southern money meets Jimmy Choo (I can still feel my giddiness when she pulled them out of the box)!
I can’t thank Audrey Goforth enough for this experience! I was in “Awww” the whole day! I loved everything and it was such an honor to work with Audrey! I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them! Thank you so much! Enjoy !
Something new and something old. The brides gorgeous dress was handmade by a designer out of New Orleans and her shoes, well, all I need to say is Jimmy Choo *sigh, one day*. Her classic wedding band has been passed through her family for generations. Stunning!
"DO NOT CRY!" A few bridesmaids walked into the room just seconds after the brides mom and sister had helped her get into her dress! For the ride to and from the church, the bride rode in this 1959 Rolls Royce! A perfect choice. The ceremony was held at a beautiful old stone church. Even though I was unable to move around, I managed to capture the love and emotion of the bride and groom! After the ceremony, I headed straight to the reception at this stunning old stone mansion. It is by far one of the most decadent layouts I have ever seen and had the pleasure of photographing. From the ice sculptures to the oyster shots to the coffee and cigar bars, every corner held a new surprise. Nothing was left out, everything was perfect and absolutely breathtaking! Another first for me! They had an on-site painter who painted a live scene of the reception throughout the night. True talent. Roll Vodka Roll! The bride and groom had this elephant ice sculpture to represent the University of Alabama where they had attended college. Roll Tide! Bojangles Chicken and Biscuits!! The grooms cakes reminded me of watching Cake Boss! This Bojangles chicken box replica was dead on and came fully-equipped with a mini groom, chicken and biscuits in hand! When the saints come marching in! A New Orleans style march led the wedding party from cocktail hour to the reception! Another unique feature to represent this family's history! All of the sudden Neo came out and was like "LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED"!!! Ok, so that's not Neo but Party on the Moon really knows how to rock a party!!! A outfit change and some MJ keep this party rocking! Showing some love! This stunning bride blows the camera a goodnight kiss before she is swept away to her romantic getaway! The finished painting of one unforgettable night is just the beginning of this couples new life together! From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you so much for your support! Please show a little love in my comment box! :)
