I hoped off the plane at LAX....two and half hours later than I was supposed to. My biggest pet pev in life? Being on time. Yep, I'm one of THOSE people. So you can imagine that arriving two and half hours later than I was supposed to already had me freaking out (imagine one of those speed walkers who swing their elbows above their heads)! But I was meeting up with Brooke from Absolute Love Photography again, she had asked me to come second shoot another wedding with her, this time in L.A! It didn't take long for me to find my happy go lucky self. So I hoped in the car and we were off! This wasn't my first time in L.A. so we skipped the tourist bit and headed to Laguna Beach!
The next day was the wedding so we arrived at the beautifully colorful Hotel Figueroa in downtown L.A. early in the morning. This hotel keeps with its moroccan theme and has, I think anyways, every possible color you can imagine. From painted walls and fabric ottomans, to silk curtains and private moroccan lounges, every texture and color a girl could dream of!
This trip was a little different than Orlando, Brooke and I kind of already knew what our flow was like so my main focus was being an incredible second shooter, which means that I'm not always shooting. Sometimes I'm blocking off sections of the sidewalk so people don't walk into Brookes shot, maybe I'm fixing the bride's dress and the groom's tux, or maybe I'm standing to the side firing off a flash. Whatever the case, I'm forever grateful to have opportunity to learn and grow! This wedding was very intimate, the bride reminded me of Flo from Florence and the Machine (best concert I've ever been to!) and the emotions flowed as much as the red wine did! It was a short trip but the memories of the beaches, the beautiful bride, a handsome groom, and Brooke's teaching will last a lifetime.
I hope you guys enjoy these images as much as I do! We were granted exclusive access to this Moroccan lounge to get these beautiful dress and shoe shots! The bride was very close to her grandparents, her grandmother especially. Even though both have passed on, they were still very present. Inside the locket there was a photo of each of them. Hey, Thats me :) Wisteria was hung from the chandeliers and the only lighting was by candlelight, giving the ceremony a very intimate feel! The reception was intimate, warm and very beautiful! The red wine flowed as a speech from the grooms brother brought tears and laughter! Dancing the night away! The groom had moves like Jagger and so did his brother and the brides father! Some even dared to bust out some break dancing moves!! From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you so much for your support! Please show a little love in my comment box! :)
