Cover Beauty, Weddings Unveiled

Related Posts with ThumbnailsI die over every Weddings Unveiled cover.  Until this issue I couldn't really figure out why though.  And then as I was reviewing some notes from a brides panel at a wedding professionals workshop I hosted earlier this year, it hit me.  What I love about it is that its just the picture.  A stunning image.  Weddings Unveiled doesn't cover the photo with all the story headlines- just like our brides confirmed at the workshop, "I buy the magazine if I like the cover photo".  You'll find more about this issue on the Unveiled blog.

So the dress.  Yes, Reem Acra, her designs have always been amongst my favorites for always being glamorous.  I wouldn't mind in the slightest if one of my clients this year waltzed down the aisle in this lovely.  Elated.  That is more likely the emotion I would have.

Jessica+Richard=Classic {Part II} | Banff Wedding Photographers

Banff Wedding Photographers

New locations are always inspiring to us, even more so when we're also working with a beautiful couple like Jessica+Richard. While we've been fortunate to photograph destination weddings in over 20 countries, this was our first in one of Canada's (and our!) favourite holiday spots: Banff, Alberta! The area's natural beauty combined with the drama of the iconic Banff Springs Hotel made the perfect backdrop for Jessica+Richard's classic wedding. Some of our favourites from their day.

The lovely Jessica gets ready.

This is one of my favorite images of the day, if not the season!

Richard, with his gift from his bride.

Though forest fire smoke obscured the mountains, the outdoor ceremony was dramatic nevertheless.

And full of laughter.

Married!

Transported by trailer from Vancouver, this mint condition 1930's era Lincoln convertible from Richard's father's car collection added an element of elegance (and a lot of oohs & ahhs and requests for pictures from hotel & wedding guests alike!).

The smoke outdoors meant we explored the nooks and crannies of the hotel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is over a century old. LOVE the old-world feel of this venue!

The smoke finally cleared so we had some time for more portraits outside.

Love Jessica's "something blue" - her toenails and special anklet given to her by her maid of honor Laura (who happens to be an awesome wedding photographer herself!)

Then it was into the woods,

Over the ruins,

And through the flowers.

Back at the Banff Springs, fabulous wedding designer Amira of Posh Productions, had arranged everything perfectly! Cream, white, & gold is such a lovely color scheme - guaranteed never to go out of style.

Tears & laughter during the speeches.

And lots of fun on the dance floor.

Congratulations, Jessica + Richard!

Aqua and Navy wedding at Tarpon Lodge

Related Posts with ThumbnailsThis little wedding we had last winter was just the perfect little getaway for a close-knit group of family & friends.  Julie & Derek reserved all the rooms and cottages of Tarpon Lodge and made it a truly intimate affair. I loved the cheerfulness of the colors we used over the weekend.  I find that pairing a rich color like Navy with Aqua adds a little sophistication that is sometimes lost when Aqua sits on its own. What do you think?
Karen nails the cake- every single time. This one was so good there was not a crumb left. Honest.

We held dinner on the patio at Tarpon Lodge.  Really just as traditional old Florida as you can get.

Because we had the entire resort to ourselves, I was able to fancy up the pool area a bit with these gigantic seagrass pillows and buckets of fresh white towels.

I loved this bouquet wrap!  One of the reasons I adore Signature Florals; she keeps boring far far away.

Thank you so much to the awesome team we had that chilly winter weekend! Kakes by Karen, Signature Florals, Impressions Photography , Cabbage Key and Tarpon Lodge.
